The Washington State University, Cancer Prevention & Research Center in conjunction with the Washington State Department of Health will be hosting a Skin Cancer awareness booth at the AG Expo on February 5-7, 2008.

Bowling for a Cure

All of Pullman and Moscow are invited to join us for a bowling event at Zeppoz complete with music, fun, and prizes. This is a great opportunity to get a little exercise, have some fun, and help support cancer research in our area.

WSU Fall Breast Health Education Fair

Fair is free to everyone, faculty, staff and students are especially invited. Various community groups and organizations who provide cancer care and education will be in attendance to provide resources and information about cancer. The fair will also have information about breast exams and radiological procedures for low-income women ages 18-39 without insurance.

WBCHP Partner Training Institute

August 15-16th, 2007

The 5th Annual Breast and Cervical Health Partner Training Institute was a success! This year’s event was held at a new location in Yakima, WA on August 15th and 16th, 2007 at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center. Since 2003 a diverse group of organizations and partners have collaborated to plan and implement annual Breast and Cervical Health Partner Training Institutes. The purpose of the event was to provide individuals working in the breast and cervical health field with the tools and education necessary to do their jobs more effectively. Approximately 55 participants from around the state attended this year’s PTI.

On the Way to the Cure -Komen on the Go

On the Way to the Cure – Komen On the Go™ is a community education and outreach tour that is part of the Komen Foundation’s efforts to engage all generations in the fight against breast cancer. After all, every three minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the U.S. and millions of women and men serve as their co-survivors, helping them through diagnosis, treatment and beyond. 2006 Member Retreat

Periodically, the Cancer Center holds a retreat for its members to work together to find common points of research. This past year, our retreat concentrated on creating focus groups that could work together towards larger research projects.
